STREAM: The National - Wake Up Your Saints
“It’s easy to lose your breath” goes the mantra of this ‘High Violet’ b-side, and in the case of this year’s full-length, it most certainly was. An addition to one of the albums of the year, ‘Wake Up Your Saints’ is an erratic, start-stop, piano-driven tune that eventually settles in the more comfortable territory of a signature National chorus; melodic and memorable. Perhaps worthy of making it onto the album the first time round.
