‘Carolina’ is the sort of song that you need to hear. I’ve little doubt that you’ve seen the words “Girls - Carolina”, “mp3” “free” “amazing” smudged across your computer screen every time you’ve visited a music website in the past two weeks, but it’s just that kind of song: Demanding of everybody’s attention.

Hypnotic, semi-robotic for the first four minutes, Christopher Owens eventually launches his characteristic, light vocals and gives the track some movement. It flourishes as a fast-moving, all-encompassing piece and it only gets there in the latter third. But it’s worth the wait. The highlight from ‘Broken Dreams Club’ and perhaps Girls’ career so far.
