CHEERLEADER: Do What You Want

Max Friday enticed us several months ago with his slacker-type, handclap-booted slant on pop. Yesterday he re-emerged with a sound far cleaner and idyllic than its two early siblings. Either he’s caught up in a dope-fuelled haze of happiness, or he’s found his Nirvana through a more politically correct series of life choices. Regardless of how he got there, ‘Do What You Want’ is the sound of a guy entirely content with whatever happens from here.
