Although I’ve had this for over a year now, it seems Highlife have evaded many a person’s attention. The reason why ‘F Kenya RIP’ finds itself onto MFM today is mainly because Jon Hillcock included it as the “hidden track” on his New Noise podcast (it’s amazing, go get it). Highlife first exposed himself to me when he awkwardly manhandled lots of smart-looking equipment last January, supporting Animal Collective in Brighton. This song stood out like a sore thumb. There’s rhythm, the tribalism, there’s euphoria.
