The Black Tambourines: 27- 25 Blues

As enjoyable as it might be to throw the words “ramshackle”, “raucous” or “ragged” at a lo-fi garage punk song, you get more of a buzz admitting that a certain band have struck gold, going beyond these tags and making something more substantial. ‘27- 25 Blues’ is anything but run-of-the-mill slacker pop, with a definite Black Lips influence, sure, but with added - dare I say it - intelligence and assuredness. The Black Tambourines’ third EP, ‘Chica’, is their most fully-formed work to date.
