This may or may not become a regular feature at MFM, but we’ve just stumbled across the new EP from City and The Sea, found lurking in our inbox a short while ago.

The quartet hail from Hamilton, Ontario, and serve up helpings of rock that’s heaped with soul. There are diverse influences present on ‘Leave A Light On’: a little bit of ‘Aha Shake Heartbreak’-era Kings of Leon in here, a little Motown, some smatterings of psychedelic pop, and even some Rolling Stones thrown in for good measure.

How the hell did they come up with that, you may well ask. Here, have a listen. Oh, and while you’re at it, have the entire thing for free in whatever format you want, if that takes your fancy. Trust us, that’s a good idea. Start with the title track, and proceed from there; we doubt you’ll be disappointed.
