Emerging: Luftwaffe

Hailing from West Philadelphia, Luftwaffe craft inventive and stylish pop music that rarely exceeds its welcome. Their debut, ten-minutes-long EP ‘Quiet Summer’ is a well-crafted notion of escapism; each of the three tracks oozing with charm and energy.
’Never Let Me Go’ allows lightly-strummer guitars to flutter by as bold, delayed vocals and rampant drum patterns take up the scenery, the sample-based ‘Old Friends’(mp3 below) is even more enchanting, re-kindling a Panda Bear shaped flame with its repetition and immediacy. And the band announce their diverse abilities with ‘Warm Blood’, a shortly-lived, dark, bass-heavy synth monster. All three tracks expose an act with considerable enterprise; hardly bereft of ideas.
