Tame Impala - Lucidity
Of all the songs on this album, this is the one I day dreamed about making a ‘fan vid’ for. Modular People got Robert Hales to direct a real one instead. Beware: if you get sea/car sick, you might not want to watch this twisty-crazy camera-on-a-kiteballoon flying high high high into the sky above the Aussie desert. You’re gonna feel it in your gut.

Shot outside the country town of Mildura, 500 odd kilometres from Melbourne, the “Lucidity” video was a leap into the unknown, a series of experiments and blind faith launches into the final frontier, involving cameras being launched into space inside weather balloons, tracking all that went on below, including Tame Impala ripping through “Lucidity”.
MFM: I totally went through Mildura whilst driving in a campervan this Spring (Australia’s Autumn) - didn’t quite see the place from this perspective though. Tame Impala found themselves all over the radio stations in Australia that I tuned into whilst over there, triple j in particular were going crazy over them. And for good reason. Australia’s best export since Cut Copy.
