Keep Shelly in Athens: Lazy Noon
I might study it during the day, but politics isn’t usually a subject that tends to open up my blog posts. All the same, it is relatively heartening, if not slightly ironic, to see Keep Shelly In Athens, a group who base themselves in Greece (heart of protests and financial meltdown), seemingly placed so far from the furore and frustration of their country’s capitol. The sound of gentle waves crashing; the heaven-like smoothness of the synths; the assured, playful nature of the track’s bass line - ‘Lazy Noon’ is the sound of ultimate tranquility and nirvana.
