NPIP Nail the Cross: 2011 Mixtape
As a blog, as a label and as a festival curator, No Pain In Pop is something I’ve always been intimidated by. Somehow always managing to sign the right acts, host the right shows - even in its early days as a blog it didn’t miss a beat.
This weekend sees Halls and Patten (the latter of which we had the pleasure of seeing at this year’s Binnacle festival), Echo Lake and Doldrums, amongst others, joining arms to cast a grizzly shadow over London’s Shacklewell Arms (tickets). It’s nosurprise then, that a “promotional” mixtape has been composed. It’s not something to be snarky and cynical about though - there’s a wonderful fusing of songs, here, all providing great introductions to the acts playing over the two days.
