Brainlove’s latest miraculous find, Bastardgeist (Joel Midden), comes equipped with the remarkable ability to display a breathtaking sonic exploration with only the most abstract of ingredients. His vocals shift in pitch and stature, riding a beautiful wave of soft synth patterns and uniquely-formed percussion. On paper, it’d simply pass by. But the final product is as poignant as it gets, begging for another play. 

’Flee To The Hills’ is defined by a gently-applied and modest standout melody that sits tight as a stampede of tightly-knit cacophony weaves its way amongst the vast, striking landscape. It’s visual music but it’s so perfectly crafted that you only wish for every sight from day to day to have the substance of this.
